Default thicker gasket??

the only heavier gasket i could find is the thicker one that is to be used when you have the block machined. Will this work as a more durable gasket or should I stick with the stock one??

I would stick with a stock one.

But i have heard of people using the thicker gasket to lower the compression slightly as well. So in other words i have no clue! sorry
