I have a 1985 Chevy K 10 with a 6.2 liter diesel..I started have idling issues with it,so I changed out the fuel filter and now I cant get it to stay running..I cracked open all the injector lines and turned the engine over, but just kept geting little fuel to come out, some one told me that it should be spraying out..Also I cracked open the line coming from the mech fuel on the block that leads to the injector pump, and got plenty of fuel..I just dont get that much out of the injector lines on the block..Do you think I have a stopped up line? Or could it be the injector pump isnt primed? Or do you think it could be the pump it self..Thanks Lost

 

Sounds like possibly a bad injection pump.

 

Hi: Lukesdiesel, I went over everything again today..I pressured the fuel tank opened the bleeder drain on top of the fuel filter until a steady flow of fuel came out, then closed the drain..Cracked all the injectors,bleed them all at once then snuged them back down..It fired right up..I took it down the road for about 3miles then it started missing and died...Got it back home aired up the fuel tank again, with the fuel filter drain open, and there was lots of air bubbles coming out for about a minute soiled foam and bubbles.. Also blew air threw all the lines from the fuel tank return and supply...There was alot of pressure when I took off the fuel cap as well, dont know if that means any thing..I'm going to drop the fuel tank in the morning and take a look..I sure hope that it isnt the injector pump...Thanks Lost
