to be honest i've never heard one on a diesel before. i would think over time the fiberglass would become saturated with soot and wouldn't muffle the sound any.

On a V8 diesel, unless you like the crack-crack-crack sound multiplied by 50, they sound like ****.

JMHO...

got to keep this thing legal. there really strict about vehicles without mufflers and emissions.
i copied ths from the rules of the rule for illinois 2009 edition does this mean i need a muffler or my turbo on my diesel can be counted on for a muffler

Muffler
A muffler must be on the exhaust system to prevent excessive noise and smoke. This
also includes turbine wheels used in the exhaust system of a diesel engine
. Cutouts,
bypasses and changes to the system to increase noise are illegal.

I know here in nebraska turbo diesels are legal without mufflers! Thats kinda what it says for your area too in my opinion!

I would just straight pipe it though, I have an 85 6.2 and it sounds real nice with 2.5 inch dual straights! Loud and proud!

As far as the glasspack make sure its the straight through type that way if it does plug up it wont create too much back pressure.
