too my knowlege cat never made a engine (other than perkins) that was theres an made buy another manufactor.Perkins is made in europe an cat owns it......i have been to the small bore plant in georga an i havent seen anything smaller than a 3114 made by cat. 3054s an 3056s are named cat on them but they are perkins made for cat.(an like i said i dont know if there was another engine option but i havent seen it in my 13 years working for the factory......didnt want to make anybody mad)

 

[B]Well i am rebuilding my duramax as we speek and cat has there stamp all over the crank and on every piston and all the parts say cat / gm

Caterpiller doesnt make your parts its a company out of cally..........CAT cranks/rods? [Archive] - LS1TECH the ls1 guys have cat stamped on there parts also an i know cat doesnt make there parts ether......the cranks are made in england for cat.......go to || Catpep ||.

I have to agree, I've worked for a Cat dealer for over 3 years, never heard of anything other than perkapiller's. i have a 3054 soon to be rebuilt and power a ratrod wrecker
