Not sure where this came from . I bought a new 2003 model and it was never mentioned to me that this Cat engine was available. Pretty much wasn't mentioned because it wasn't offered in a 3500 truck. Does make me curious how a story like that can come up.
Stay safe out there.
Ken
PS The 3208 has been swapped into a few one ton trucks that I know of. It isn't too heavy. It just takes some ingenuity and a few bucks too. There are many others that would be my choice ahead of the 3208 but that's why we all have our own trucks. My thoughts here.

mad If you think i am wrong contact G-M

The Duramax diesel 6.2 was a cat motor in 2002 to 2005 it was called a Duramax but it was a 6.2 liter engine manufactured by cat it never was advertised because Chevy never signed a contract with cat to advertise that it was a caterpillar engine for example if dodge needed a diesel engine they could have their own name but not even say it is a Cummins if that were the case, same with ford they call their engines power strokes/"power Jokes" but the are made by international.

It is possible, I'm putting one in when the piece of crap cummins gives out. Gonna do tube frame from firewall forward, possibly modify fenders and hood for a longer engine bay.
