Default 8.2

hey i wasn't sure which forum to post this in but i decided this one because the motor is in an old 1985 chevy 6500 dump truck. The owner told me that the truck came with a 8.2 diesel i've never came across these or know anything about them. my dad said that he had an old ford 7000 with one in it. I'm just curious if anyone knows anything about them thatss all

Keep it cool!!!!!!! They like to eat head gaskets if they run warm. Also they are like the 3208 cat v-8's, put bearings in at 100k miles regardless!!!!! Another thing, make sure all the stickers are on the rocker covers that tell you the adjustment measurements for the injectors. If not there, its a royal pain in the butt to do a tune up on these engines. That also needs to be done at every 100k miles. Reset valve lash and injector tappet lash.
