Is This Truck Worth Buying?

if you could come up with 2500 CASH id bet you the dealer will take it just to get it off the lot. usually dealers dont even have trucks that old on the lot they usually get shipped straight to the auction block
I could try that. It's worth a shot.Plus they would give me a better trade in value when I fix it up a little. Our veternarian's son who is also named Ben had a K1500 6.5L with 196,000 miles on it before he traded it off.He got $4,500 for his.So I should be able to get decent resale value on it in 2 more years.
ya hopefully in 2 years the economy will be picked back up and fuel wont be as rediculous as it is now..... now would be a great time to buy a diesel being that dealers will almost do anything to keep them moving. but as far as getting rid of one goes not a good time
I see.You do have a point Gunman.

how are you gonna pay for the Duramax. its gonna have 250,000 miles before you can pay it off and hope it doesn't brake before then. i would get a small 4x4 with a 4 banger and just drive that around. i know its not the diesel mentalty but if your going to college your not going to drive much and when you do fill up its going to be expensive so stick with gas. if diesel ever goes down again trade in the small truck and get a new full size diesel. maybe then you find a low mileage diesel that some grandpa was driving around that they are selling for cheap.i would pick that up. i wouln't take a chance on the 6.5 liter. like buckshotmuckee said they had tons of problems with it. they also have a history of overheating and cracked blocks. stay with gas for now and play with diesels on the field
