Default 6.5 Broken Rocker arm

I have a 2000 GMC with the 6.5 TBD. About 6 months ago it started smoking and missing. A scanner told me the #1 cylinder was misfiring. It was a back up vehicle and wasn't used much so it just set. Today I finally got the ambition to tear into it to see what was going on. What I found wa the pushrod had came right up through the rocker arm see attached image. Any ideas on what would cause this and I can buy individual rocker arms but can only get pushrods in a complete set. Thoughts on reusing the existing pushrod and a new rocker arm?

i wouldnt want to reuse that pushrod. could be tiny damage marks in it that over the long term could wear away at your new rocker. if it looks perfect and you are tight on money roll it on something very flat to make sure it didnt get bent and make sure the ends still look good. also they are hardened on one end so it has to go back in right side up.
