Default brake light switch

I notice when I apply the brakes my tach(rpms) go up does this mean my brake switch is bad and also would this throw off other codes?

Is your cruise control and brake lights working? If so its good could be a bad ground though.

Depends how fast you're going when brakes are applied. If you're at driving speed and you touch the brakes, that unlocks the converter which will cause a slight increase of rpm's
