'01 6.5 not starting
My 6.5 liter 3500 Chevy flatbed is experiencing an issue where when it sits overnight it will not crank. The engine will turn over rapidly but it will not start, I am getting loads of white smoke out of the exhaust pipe while it turns over. When I give it a little spray of starting fluid (I know) it starts right up immediately and I can turn it off and turn it on again, only after it sits for a couple hours will it not start again, can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance

Check glows,
I'd advise to discontinue the ether on the 6.5, it is not recommended because of those glows when combined with ether things can go boom quickly.
WD-40 is a better starting aid if you must use one,
Glow control relay is center rear of engine next to FFM should have constant 12V to it input lug to gnd, then in glow cycle 12v out to the harness when meter to gnd and output heavy lug, if you don't have that then there is an issue with the relay/control or the command voltage to it...
If that checks Ok then 12V at each individual glow connector to gnd, issues there then you have glow harness problem...
best way to check the glows is to remove them individually (ALL OF THEM) Even the hard to get to ones, make a test jumper #10 or 12 wire with female space connector to lug on the glow plug connected to batt charger or batt terminal (pos or neg, your choice) then with pliers holding body of glow touch to opposite terminal completing the connection.
Reason for pliers (I like needle nose vise grips and heavy gloves for this test) is glow should get hot pretty quickly tip to center cherry red in less than 4 sec, if not the glow is bad or weak and needs replacing.
A meter resistance check will only show the element is still intact not if it is healthy glowing (think stove heating elements that work but really don't get hot).
Replace with Delco AC-60Gs, or Bush Duraterms those have best longevity others don't last as long and early ones like 9Gs swell and can break off.
