Question HELP! Flywheel? TC? Tranny?

I have a 95 6.5 tb and lately it's been making a horrible loud rattling/grinding noise. I took the bell housing off and the flywheel seems to be in alright condition and it doesn't seem to be hitting anything while running, nor to be loose. This noise is non-stop. Softens a little when you give it gas but then just gets louder... Any ideas?

Does it sound like it's coming from under the truck?

Did you check your torque converter bolts? Back when mine was auto and I just put in my rebuilt engine, torque converter bolts came loose and made a terrible racket.

If they are loose, put some locktite on the threads.

2001 Chevy 2500 hd LB7. I also did an engine swap 2 years ago. It appears that a bolt loosened because at one point when i was starting the truck the starter seemed to lock up. So i checked into it and i read that a bolt probably came loose. I took off the inspection plate and didn't see any metal filings or chucks. Now its real loud when i 1st start it. It does quiet down when given a little throttle. My concern now is that i'm leaking tranny fluid out between block and bell housing. Is the only option a hole in the torque converter?
I'm in construction and i need my truck everyday and can't imagine having to pull tranny. I'm going to pull the starter right now to see if one of the bolts is loose.
Thanks
Mark
