Default 6.5 diesel swap and freshen up

I have a gas 350 in my 92 right now and im looking to swap it over to 93 6.5 im going to look at to buy today. i was just wondering if anyone knows if the motor mounts are the same or any problems i might run into. also any advice on freshening up the motor before i drop it in the new truck. Also for the extra weight does anyone think or know if 2500 springs fit in the 1500?

Better off keeping the 350-more reliable.

Almost the same power, just possibility of better mileage with the 6.5TD.

I wouldn't think you you would have a weight issue since the 1/2 tons were available with a 6.5. I'd put new glow plugs in, take care of injector issues, and make sure you have a starter bracket while the motor is out. That stuff is a pain to get to on the passenger side.

Any suggestions. I know this is the mechanical year 6.5 so do you still think id need to harness from the donor to swap over ?

I think your gonna want that harness. A mechanical pump still has connections. Then you have the glow plug relay, LP wired through the OPS. Also gonna want the diesel radiator, fuel tank or at least the sending unit, probably the torque converter if it's auto. You should be fine on the motor mounts. Give the motor mounts and the harmonic balancer a good inspection they cause alot of vibration when they get worn. All I can think of at the moment. Surely someone has done this swap b4 that has more info.......
