Turbo Troubles
Hey all, first time poster here, long time lurker. The forums here have helped me quite a bit, but now i think i need some direct advice.
The other day i was driving down the highway when i lost all boost. My EGT jumped significantly and things got LOUD.
I popped the hood and saw that my waste gate actuator rod was just dangling around with the engine running.
I got it home, cut the top off the WGA and sure enough there was a tear in the diaphragm.
I use the WGA housing to make my own spring controlled WGA.
Problem is, now i still cant produce much boost, 1.2 - 3 TOPS. still VERY loud.
My next step was going to be pulling the turbo, is there anything i should be looking for? MY EGT got to 900 degrees, which i did not think to be fatally high. could i have put a hole in my headers or something? Any advice is much appreciated.
