So I'm new to the whole Turbo Diesel deal. Well I've been looking up different thing to do like bigger down pipe and air intake kits, came across the turbo master set up. That led me to start looking under the hood the other day and noticed my turbo doesn't have a waste gate actuator??? I'm pretty sure one should be there, but like I said, I'm new to all this Turbo Diesel stuff... So, having said that... will it be harm full not having one?

 

Do you have boost and EGT gauges? Keep your boost and EGTs in check and no harm done.

 

ditto and you have a mechanical waste gate actuator on a 93

 

The PO put a boost gauge in it. But I'm not to sure how accurate it is. And I plan on getting a pillar pod and loading it with a boost, EGT, and trans temp gauges. I also need to find a nice aftermarket diesel tach, considering my truck didn't come standard with one...
