Hey guys im a noob here. I hav a 71 gmc with an detroit 6.2 in it. I do believe it came out of a 82 p30 stepvan. When i got it, it didnt come with the high idle solenoid or even the bracket. Any cheap diy solutions other than a stick or brick. Sorry if this is a reoccuring thread. Any help is good help. Like i said im a noob. Thanks

 

Only thing I can think of would be a kicker solenoid like the mid 70's quadrajets had for AC high idle?

 

I read somewhere that some one used a power door lock actuator. Do u think that wud b strong enough 2 hold the throttle?

 

Doesn't take a lot to hold it if you give it a shot with your foot first to bring it up.

 

Whith the older 6.2/6.5s with mechanical injection the easiest and cheapest thing I have found is keeping a pipe wrench in the truck with me for jump starting or to keep the cab even cooler when using the A/C you can adjust it with slight pressure
