got my ip in my truck it wasa used one I got out of a late 94 works and runs good I think I need to time it though I checked timing with a tech 2 and it was saying 11? im not sure how to time it and what not that was just off the data I seen? went on pretty smooth I was getting ready to bolt the 3 bolts inside oil fill and I seen I got the pin in one of the bolt holes instead of the pin holder then I got it all all I ran it for a little without intake to chdck for leaks none so I put the intake one then after I got done my ftb mod came in the mail it only took 16 days so now ill be pulling it off again to do that or can I do without takin intake off??? wanna thank racer for all the help!

The feed the beast mod can be done without removing the intake-that's how I did mine.

The fuel filter housing does have to be removed though so it can be drilled and tapped for the new fitting-also the AN fittings are suppoosed to be tightened with aluminum AN wrenches, borrow them if you can but use what you have to-the wrenches are mostly meant to not mark the anodized fittings.

As for timing-when using a tech II it must have the OBD1 expansion pack to work on a 95-a tech 1 is easier to use or if you intend to keep the truck a while buy the pro version of GMTD ScanTech -it's a laptop scan tool that is worth the investment for 94,95 6.5 trucks and is built specially for them EG download and purchase the program and cable:
Engh Motors - GMTDScan Tech
Or buy the licence from leroydiesel.com

Once you have the correct tool or verify the one you have will do the job I can walk you through the basics-I havent done the relearn with a techII but have with Carcode and GMTD ScanTech.

The timing you saw was likely desired and actual timing values, what matters is TDCO so look for that value although it will be the previously stored value hence the need for a TDCO relearn to allow the ECM to know the actual position of the current IP and maybe even make the proper adjustment without having to make any further adjustments-time will tell?
