on my 98 I noiced when I rev the motor up it will be choppy for a little and a puff of white smoke the egr I know needs to be cleaned or replaced the vacuum line for it is off when I bought it idk where it needs to be hooked up to? could that make it blow white when reving?

 

White smoke is antifreeze or a slight missfire from a bad injector or bad glow plug depending if the smoke is only on initial startup or when warm.(would be more grey).

Get the cooling system pressure tested,possible damage can occur if left unattended.
