98 drive belt

Default 98 drive belt

i replaced the drive belt on my 98 6.5 b/c the old one was old and tore then new one I drove 45 miles and it did the same it looks like its all lined up but the crank pully its hitting the edge as if the pully isn't on all the way but I checked the bolts all tight is this a serious thing truck runs good no problems other then this thanks

more likely a problem with the tensioner.

ok should I try a new tensioner with belt?i was gunna put a new pully on the tensioner but the bolt wont tighten up its stripped im guessing

Most belt problems come back to the tensioner but with the belt off spin all the pulleys and make sure they have good bearings ect.

I did check and make sure they all felted right no bearing noise etc looked good but the belt was riding almost on the ridge of the crank pully then it ripped so cut it off

the vac pump pully wasn't all the way on I used a power steering pully installer and got it!
