Where is it leaking oil from, around the blades on the intake side or out of the oil feed or return? If it is leaking from around the blades, it should be replaced immediately. That means the bearings are failing. You don't want that thing grenading and sending bits and pieces into the engine, that would be the end. I would just throw the stock turbo away and replace it with a holset hx40w or similar. You will be amazed at the difference.
There are no bearings in a stock 6.5 turbo-the impellers are suspended by bushings.
As long as there is little to no side play in the impellers the turbo is likely alright.
You need to identify where the leak comes from if it even is a leak-a bad CDR can make enough oil appear near the turbo to make it seem like a leak.
As far as replacement goes the ATT turbo is the only aftermarket direct bolt on available that doesn't even need the vac system since it is non wastegated.
It's more efficient than any of the GM turbo options also

Replace it man, mine was leaking on the intake side and i ignored it. Came back from a road trip and it started screaming. Pulled the filter off and it shredded the compressor wheel. Could have saved myself a huge headache if i replaced it right away.
I rebuilt it and the leak stopped there still little spots on the intake side but my boost is 10 times better and it's not leaking down to my frame anymore I'm probably replacing it soon anyway
Cheaper alternative soak CDR in some Diesel fuel blow it out with compressed air it will be as good as new
