Default PMD / FSD problem?

This morning baby died unexpectedly. One minute we were driving down the road the next minute we were drifting to a stop. I put her in netural and she started and died. After a bit of this I was able to start her long enough to get to a safe place to take a rest. I turned her off and let her sit for 5 minutes or so. Then she fired up like nothing happened and the rest of the trip was uneventfull.

No codes were thrown, fuel was at a quarter tank, fuel pressure was at 5psi. I looked under the hood and no leaks were detected, or anything else unusual. No odd sounds, no engine hesitation.

What I have notied is that since I changed out the t-stats and the engine is not running at temp which is a lot hotter than the 16-170 degrees she was running at with the t-stats stuck open.

I am guessing that the PMD is the most likley coulpret. I have moved it off the pump but not as far as teh bumper YET.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

My truck is better than my wife because it can be told what to do and where to go.

Could very well be PMD failure and a PMD mounted on a heatsink with heat transfer paste/pad should really be mounted outside the vehicle for longest lasting prformance.

Did you by chance loose the function of the instrument cluster but heater blower and radio kept working at the time of the stall?

If so consider a failing ignition switch.

What do you mean "loose the function" The backlight on the cluster went out months ago but the insturments (spedometer, tacometer, etc) work fine.

Ok if the instruments work at the time of stalling I expect the switch is ok.
