I have a 96 6.5 diesel that runs fine & a 99 that isnt ... I took the computer out of the 96 & put the 99 computer in it , it won't start w the 99 computer but it will w the 99 steering column........ I put the 96 computer in the 99 & it still won't start..... Can anyone chime in on why the 99 steering column will work in the 96 but not the computer ..... Little confusing maybe

 

The 99 has a security passlock system that the 96 does not.
