Default 6.5 2001 classic 3500 GMC, stalling

hey guys, I hoping someone can help me fix my truck.

I bought a 2001 GMC 3500 6.5L dually with 320kms/198miles hoping to one day run it on Bio diesel (haven't put a drop in the truck yet). when I bought the truck I drove it home, about 1 hour of driving with no problems, then dropped it of at the shop to get safety and he even had to drive it 30 min to get the Etest for if and no problems even passed the Etest with flying colours.

My first day driving the truck after getting it back I didn't even make it 20 min from my house and then it stalled I think myself WTF but it started right back up huh I think, so I carry on then about another 20 min it does it again! now Im pissed GRRR,happen more often throught out the day then dies completly and won't start, the short and sweet of it, is that when I primed it it would run for a bit then die in the streets.

So I changed the fuel tank it ran nice for 40min then died,so the I put on a new PMD only worked for 5 min, so then I put a new IP on Cost $1600 ouch truck ran great for 250kms then died again now I'm really getting pissed.I have spent almost as much as I have paid for this dang truck

Any thought guys PLZ help

-Jay

Is the pmd relocated? what about fuel pressure? while trucks running loosen t handle brass valve till fuel comes out of water in fuel hose n see if pressure is strong/ constant or irratic do this while vehichle is running and also before running when key is turned on like fer glow plugs. also any codes or ses light?

Hi thx for quick reply, yep I did also do them PMD relocate. My PMD is grey and it came with the new IP, new OPS when I installed the IP, new lift pump when I had new tank put in and new filter upper and lower but I personaly never did it, was supposed to be with the saftey, I've only own this truck for 2 months.

Truck will start up but will not run for long, when it's running if I keep opening the upper filters cap, out burst a bunch of air but will stay running longer if I always let out the air??

I dont have a code reader, but engine light comes on and goes off, light is off now. Truck runs better then when I bought it but just wont stay running.

You need to check the fuel lines from the tank forward it sounds like the truck is getting air in the the fuel system some where it maybe easier to presurize the tank with air the look for leak I use a air nozzle with a old tennis ball with 2 holes in it to put air in the tank it helps to have a second person to help you with this process

LOL I guess with a empty fuel tank you were getting lots of air in the fuel system
