Changing the LP normally does not require much if any bleeding.

Default Feeling the Lift pump running

I followed your advice yesterday afternoon, and went out to the truck, and turned th ignition switch till the glow plug light came on. Then, I got out, and felt the Lift pump, and could feel the vibrations, of it running constantly. Then when I fired it right up, (it always starts very easily), the pump felt likr the lift pump is pulsing on and off, with the truck at idle, warming up. Is that normal? Again guys THANKS in advance, I can't get over how little I know about a diesel, when I know so much about gasoline engines. these things just work a whole lot differently.

That is normal for the pump to run intermetinaly like that and yeah take everything you knbow about a gas burner and throw it out the window when it comes to any Diesel

Default I FOUND THE PROBLEM, GUYS

I found the problem guys, I was reading your posts and I read about high vacuum in the fuel supply lines causing problems, so I pulled my gas cap, and when I did, the outside air rushed into the tank. I had bought a locking gas cap for my truck the day after I got it, and I ASKED the guy at the local AutoZone to get me the PROPER locking cap for the truck. What he got me was a NON-VENTED Cap, and it was the last thing that I thought of, because he is SUPPOSED to know what he is doing. Well he didn't, and just handed me one that looked the same, that was a locking cap, but was un-vented. When I found the huge vacuum in the tank, I pulled the cap, and took my pocket knife, and lifted the large diameter rubber ring from the cap, and the problem INSTANTLY went away. From now on, I trust NO ONE in a parts store to get me the right parts, it seems that in THIS area of Texas, they are all too lazy to do it right. If anyone has this problem, I suggest that you check for vacuum in the tank after putting fifty or sixty miles on your truck, and see if air rushes into your tank when you open the cap.
