Default 2001 GMC Savanna 3500 6.5L Non-Turbo is not starting!!!

I ran my van out of fuel and I have been having issues starting it. I changed the fuel filter, topped it off with diesel and it started for a minute. The van is not starting now. My glow plugs are not getting 12v at the glow plug connectors, so I replaced the GP relay and the GPs. I am still only receiving around 5v and the GP connectors. The batteries are fully charged. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Are your batteries fully charged?

Sounds like a connection problem or corrosion in your battery cables-good chance the cables going to the battery under the floor might have road grime contamination?

Have you checked both heavy terminals of the glow relay for voltage when the glows are cycling to see if they are the same voltage?

High resistance at a ground connection can result in the same problem, after some extended cranking-say 10 seconds, quickly get out and feel the battery cables with a bare hand-the one(s) that feel hot/warm to the touch need attention.

I am getting a drop to 5V, when the GP relay cycles. It would seem like a bad battery or cables as you stated. It should remain 12V? Do you know where I could order all of the cables? Ebay has a set for around 250.

Every once in a while you can find wrecked semi's with good cables if they haven't already been taken and they have very good cables.Goggle semi junk yards or semi used parts in your area.Sometimes there cheap sometimes not.
