Off road diesel is for off highway use only, such as farm equipment. Its pretty much the exact same as regular diesel without road tax. It's dyed red so they can tell the difference. I think if you're caught using it on the highway its a 2500 dollar fine. Should get the same mileage, but if you're using it for off-roading then you probably not worried about mileage.

I personally run super tech 15w-40, that's mostly because I'm too cheap to spend anymore.

Like stated above for red dye diesel, but I run 15W-40 Rotella in mine.

A half to one ounce of 2-stroke mix oil per gallon of fuel is a good Idea for these engines the low sulfur diesel they sell nowadays was not made for these engines it will lead to premature IP failure also running the 2-stroke mix I notice my engine is noticeble quieter I buy Pennzoil marine synthectis 2-stroke mix at Wally world for around $15 a gallon small price to pay for longevity I had a 1993 extra-cab with 585,XXX miles on it before the engine went south and those were oil field miles so I would say that it would be closer to 800,000 miles on a normaly driven 6.5

Does running 2 stroke oil really help, I use that Power Service Cetane Boost stuff in the silver bottle on long trips. Is that basically a lubricant? I know the cetane makes the diesel combust easier. I've heard of running 2 stroke oil in pre-ulsd engines, is the Super Tech company gallon jug good for running in these? Like stated before, I'm pretty cheap.

As for the injection pump not running off road, I don't think that makes any sense. The only difference (that I know of) between off-road and highway diesel is that they add the red dye to it so law enforcement can tell the difference.

All I need is maybe another 30k out of mine before I'm out of college and can afford a Cummins, but I like to take care of my stuff, so I'll be buying some Super Tech 2 stroke oil, I don't have to fill up very often, is it safe to let the oil sit in the diesel for a while or does it even matter? Is basically running the Power Service cetane boost the same as adding the 2 stroke oil without the added cetane (really not necessary)? I know that some 2 stroke oil is designed to be very combustible so it could act like the cetane boost anyway?

Boy, as much as I drive, by the time mine has 500k miles, I'll be going to the dealership to buy me a new 2030 Duramax, haha.

Thanks

I dump my 2 stroke oil in before i fill the tank so the fuel mixes it up good and when I dropped my tank to install my draw straw and AirDog there was no oil settled at the bottom of the tank.

I run rotella 15-40 in my cummins and it seems to like it.
