are all truck computers the same(diesel 6.5)?
how can i tell which one will work?

 

96+ are the same but have a 4 letter code that must match most times if going from 1 truck to another,you cant expect an ECM from a standard to operate in a auto either.

94,95 are in a league of their own.
93 and back are just trans computers.

What makes you think you need an ECM?

 

no commutation when trying to scan it and cant find any wires off or broken

I try to find a pin out for the ecm, so far no luck

Knine, if you have time to lay the truck up you could Call Bill Heath. He may be able to test yours...get an upgrade while your at it....

 

ya i do have another thread now im looking for a pinout of the ecm. I dont have time to put it up for now but i guess i dont have much of a chose.
just to make sure if its a common problem or not.
