6.5 popping back in intake

Another option would be if the exhaust valve was not opening-on the intake stroke would be left over compression from the exhaust stroke that didn't happen?

I had this happen to me once on a regular gas chevy and it was because the cylinder walls were scarred up really bad. just a maybe

How do scarred cylinder walls cause poping through the intake-I can't imagine why that would be related?

Try loosening the inj line on that cyl while it's running and see if it stops. You could do that with a tech2 or Carcode throught he scanner as well but #1 is easy to get at with a wrench.
