Default Where do you get Performance parts

Hello!

Now that I am on the road to solving my cylinder head issue (head was bad, block ok!), where do you go to find performance parts. Everyone seems to carry for the Duramax, but not so much for the ole 6.5L I am looking for tractor stacks, performance heads, new turbo, and a lift kit. Nothing too crazy, just want to get some 265/75R/16s underneath her. will they be compatible witht he stock rims? any help will be greatly appreciated!

Mike

265/75/16 was stock tire that came on mine no lift required, looks like yours in avatar is a dually 3500 2x4 or 4x4 ??? up date your signature. Auto or manual trans, as a 96 you are OBD-II so will need a reflashed PCM vs chip, h/o marine injectors, ATT turbo look at my signature is about as far as you can go with bolt on. That will get you to about 250rwhp up from 185hp at flywheel from factory with auto trans maybe a little more with manual since auto eats up about 40-60 hp faster you go.

Before adding for power and bigger tires you need to look a $$ spent for longevity & basic maint 1st, then go for some power mods, also you being a dually probably you have 4:10s not good for speed/economy may need to go to a 3:73 ratio for good blend of power/economy.

Need to know where you are-and goal for what the build up is for to offer best advise.

Heath Diesel good place to start for most stuff you seek. Not many folks support 6.5s Diesel does nothing but 6.2/6.5 also owns operates the worlds fastest 6.5 record set @ Bonneville 158 mph going for more hopefully on next years "salt".

Kennedy Diesel offers 6.5 support as well.
Some other aftermarket vendors are Leroy Diesel.
Alligator Performance for exhaust.
DSG from Canada also has some 6.5 offerings.

Good to hear your solving your problem little by little. I like finding stuff on craigslist. I know it sounds sketchy, but I have had great success. I saved money and met some really cool people who like working on their trucks.

Performance heads might be had from pennisulardiesel.com

Stack kits are easy to get, most are universal but cost big bucks.

A good turbo upgrade for example would be a holset hx series turbo with at least a 14cm2 turbine housing.

with all that said, a tuned ecm would also be a nice upgrade and will bring out the full potential of the turbo.

As for lift kits, they can be had from almost any off road internet site.
