Your truck has plenty of life left in its a chevy but the engine however depends you could have 10 miles left or 150,000 miles to help determine check for blue smoke on startup or while engine is running open oil fill cap and c if anywhite smoke puffs out (blowby) if little or none puffs out your good for a few more years at least but if excessive smoke engine is in poor health. Diff factors will help add to life of the 6.5 to an extent keep up on maintenence oil changes, when you start truck dont take off right away like you would with a gas powered vehichle let it idle for 3-10 minutes for it to warm up properly to ensure thinner oil to contact bearing surfaces better as well as with fueling add a few ounces of two stroke oil to every tank of diesel for better lubrication for fuel system as todays diesels have low sulfur n hardly any lubrication..lastly baby that throttle!! and keep towing within spec limits.

The Diamond Eye is a good system for reasonable money, also the price difference between muffler and no muffler makes it so you can order the muffler kit and try it straight piped first and then install the muffler when you come to your senses.LOL

The drone in the exhaust while cool for the first 5 minutes will drive you and everyone around you nuts if it stays straight piped,a muffler is really worth having.
