Default Use transmission cooler as oil cooler

This is probably a dumb question, but I can't find the answer online.

I am running a manual transmission on a build I am putting together...so I don't need the transmission fluid cooler portion of the aluminum radiator I am planning on using (found the radiator thanks to someone on this site, thanks!).

Would it be possible to use the transmission cooler portion of the radiator as an oil cooler instead?

Also, the outlets on my 6.2 diesel are 1.75 inch and the inlets on the Chevelle/nova radiator I plan on using are 1.5. It doesn't seem like a big issue to me, but does anyone else see there being a problem there?

I dont see why using the trans side of the radiator as a oil cooler but to be safe I woould run a oil temp gauge and if i am not mistaken the inlet/outlet on them old G.M. radiators are NPT threads easily got from any hardware store in their pluming section.

So what you're saying is all I need to do is get the plumbing right and I should be good to go? That is great if so, shaves about 50 bucks off my build (no extra oil cooler, brackets, etc), not to mention the 50 bucks or so already shaved when I found out manual transmissions need no transmission cooler, brackets etc...

That is right? Manual transmissions use no coolers? I'm running an NV4500...

oh yeah, and I think I see what you were saying, that all i need to do about the inlets and outlets is get some plumbing bits and it should work.

Also, definitely going to put as many gauges as I can on this thing, including oil temp, water temp, and a tach. Maybe even a vacuum gauge, if possible (brakes run on vacuum, using a gear driven vacuum pump from 6.2).

It's easy since the I;m not trying to make the thing pretty, just functional.
