I have a 95 2 dr Chevy Tahoe with a 6.5 tb. A few years ago a hose under the hood had a cut in it and sprayed diesel everywhere. The insulation attached to the hood soaked up a lot of diesel. I was curious if that insulation is needed. Will it hurt or help anything if I tear out the diesel soaked insulation?

 

I belive that is mostly for sound deadening
