People always bashing on the 7.3

I did re-read it, and I've deducted that you must be illiterate. The CUMMINS website I linked to shows the different ratings in 2003. The HO (thats High Output) motor has the most power.
Correction, you are right. The 2003 cummins IS a 305hp truck with 555ft-lbs of torque. Ouch.. looks like Internationals 6.0, with only 1/10th of a liter larger motor, has 20hp and 100ft-lbs more.

[QUOTE=85_305;888913] sure thing, sport
Funny you mention that. The guy that taught me about 12v's and helped tune MY 12v, had built HIMSELF 2 600hp 12v cummins and 1 500hp 24v cummins.
so is a 600hp 12v supposed to be impressive? I mean my vp made over that.. 600 might of been impressive back in the day.

The auto's and 6spds in the 6.0 are bullet proof, and the only real issues the 6.0 has are egr issues and head studs. Some people go thru turbo's because they dont romp on them to heat off all the soot that collects on the variable geometry turbo (wait, when did cummins use vgt's? Thats right, several years later).

[quote=85_305;888945]Right and the cummins has CONSISTENTLY shitty liftpumps that fail (LOTS of money at the dealership), leading to injection pump failure (even HIGHER cost at the dealership). Oh ya, and injector issues and craptastic transmissions.

Sorry, but your wrong. ONLY the HO trucks had 325 hp.. and NOT every 2003 was a HO
Cummins Power Rating Timeline
REGARDLESS, even comparing the 305hp 555ft-lbs cummins, the 6.0 International has 20hp and 100ft-lbs of torque more.
Whats your point? I knew NOTHING about the 12v when I first bought and learned as I went. What will any of that prove? I'm providing hard facts about the vehicles, not opinion.
And please... tell me that last part was a joke. Because I couldn't help but laugh.

Holyinability to coherently quote and multi-quote.
The 6.0 was brought up a LONG time ago, and it surely wasn't by me. I'm the one who keeps trying to get this thread on topic amidst all the 24v banter, common rail crap, duramaxes etc. NONE of those has anything to do with the topic of the thread, but all the cummins guys keep bringing it up.
Thats one hell of a drive for a beer, but I'm down anytime. Weekends are best

i have three powerstrokes, 2 obs, 1 2002, and although you all might argue about this, i must say this... i have been made fun of for havin a ps, but i get to laugh right back at the person who laughed at me for buying one, cuz anyone who knows diesels, knows the powerstroke 7.3s are bullteproof. dodges are the best with mods and chevy are good either way. in the end its what you like the best and what your intentions with the truck are. if you wanna pull at a comp...go dodge, if you like stock dependability and awesome pulling, go ford and chevys are good at both. with enough money any brand can be better than the other
