I wish I had some better advice to offer. My wife and have only been married a little over 2 yrs. The first year we had some stuff like this happen. I did not back down. There is nothing more I hate than double standards and my wife knows this. She learned it real well the first few months. One other thing she learned was that I can be equally unreasonable if she wants to play that game.
She is much more reasonable and is clear about things upfront instead of stewing on it for a while and flipping out over something stupid later. I admit I make mistakes, but the world isn't going to end over them. Save your drama for someone else. And when you do something IT IS as big of a deal as when I did it. Get used to it.
After a year of this, things have gotten much better. We just had to train each other.
The ladies here will prob want to kill me, but a few of the guys on here know me and my wife. I am good husband, but you just have to get things straight sometimes.
