Default How Did I Ruin Thanksgiving?

I still can't figure this out so I need help from our bomber wimmenz:

The 4Runner that my friend just bought was purchased on Thanksgiving. He really wanted this one and we just couldn't pass up its $500 asking price. I emailed the owner via craigslist on the Tuesday before thinking it was a long shot as the ad was placed in late October. The guy calls me on turkey day and said he still had it but because of work he could only show it that day.

This was a great deal. They don't just pop up everyday. We had to move and move fast. So we took off for about 2 hours to go bring home the new acquisition.

I get accused of ruining Thanksgiving. Not only by my wife but also by her mom and even by my SIL who wasn't even there.

Now here's the odd part. When I got the call from the seller I had to call my wife to tell her that we were leaving. Guess where she was? Uh-huh. She was shopping with her mom for bargains.

So of course I offered up that she had in fact ruined Thanksgiving because she left first to go get her bargains. I was then informed that the two situations are not the same by any means.

Apparently woman bargains are not the same as man bargains as they apparently have a higher ranking in importance?

Can any of you Bomber girls explain this to me? Where did I go wrong? Is there in fact a difference in man vs. woman bargains?

you should have put this in the badlands...
but forget her. She got her deal and you got hers. Call up your dad and any other male relatives and ask them. That's the same thing she did. I'm sure they'll say fair game. The only difference between the two situations though is that you didn't get pissy. But how can she get mad when she wasn't home either?

She wasn't pissy. Heck I ain't even pissy. I'm just curious about the rules. And, if these are the rules I'd also like to know if they apply to any other holidays?

Now here's the odd part. When I got the call from the seller I had to call my wife to tell her that we were leaving. Guess where she was? Uh-huh. She was shopping with her mom for bargains. DO YOU EXPECT HER TO ACTUALLY AKNOWLEDGE WHAT YOUR DOING WHEN SHOPPING ESPECIALLY SINCE IT HAD TO DO WITH A TRUCK

So of course I offered up that she had in fact ruined Thanksgiving because she left first to go get her bargains. I was then informed that the two situations are not the same by any means. BAD IDEA #2

Women make the rules as they go. Don't even try to figure it out because once you do they will throw you for a loop the next time.

Oh I didn't just say that did I.Some Women. Sometimes I think out loud. sorry Ladies

That's pretty good insight there, Logan. You ought to get a hold of Dr. Phil and see if he needs a sidekick.

My father once asked me, "Son, do you want to be 'right' or do you want to be married?"
Woman change the rules constantly to backup the decision they made at the moment. Us guys have a set of rules and guidelines that we follow and dont deviate from them for any reason whatsoever. There in lies the problem. Hard to keep playing in the basketball game when "they" suddenly decide its football. Read the book, "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus".

I have no advice to offer you Johnny as I would have done the same thing. That is why I am divorced. It is things like that this that continue to affirm my decision to avoid marriage.

Certainly sounds like a bunch of guys being pissy when he asked for a female opinion...

First, I have to rant for a little bit... It REALLY pisses me off when guys make comments about women in general as if all women are crazy (uh... Jason?) or nagging or b**chy or whatever ALL the time. I'm not saying that I NEVER do that, but I do try to pick my battles. Also, ALL women do not change the rules ALL the time. I don't! Mine are simple... be honest ALL the time, don't break my trust (I will KILL you!), give me a heads up on your plans (If I must call 911 I would like to know where to send them), and check to make sure we actually have the money before buying the latest "project".

Well, now that the b**ch-fest is out of the way...

My thought is there is something else going on behind the scenes. It sounds to me like she's mad about something else and looking to blame anything on you... Not the best approach, but whatever. OR, you were supposed to be doing something else and you bailed on that to go get the truck. Had she asked you to do something around the house? Help out with something to get ready for Thanksgiving? I'm just guessing here... One other thing... In my opinion, it was in pretty poor form for her to bring her mom and sister in on it. OF COURSE they are going to agree with her, its HER family. You shouldn't even pay attention to their opinions, but that's just me!

Anyways, that's just my opinion...

OOPS, forgot to ask... When do we get to see pics of the truck?
