If I download a movie file what kind do I want if I want to burn it to a DVD?

You cant without have the proper copyright crack. I believe the new improved format is MPEG4.

I want to download one from limewire and I cant figure out which kind of movie file

Check to see what format you DVD plays that you have hooked to your tv and use one of those.
