it depends on what your truck is, i know almost all staets have a law the truck drivers are not supposed to talk on the phone while driving. if ur company truck has dot numbers on it, ur held to the same rules.

 

New York state's law is that you cannot use a comunication device unless it is hands free. The 2 way is not hands free.

 

When did the northeast turn communist? I knew about the west but this is news to me. I'm glad I live in Texas. Actually I can understand the no cells while driving but sometimes they go to far.

 

So what do they do with the class 8 guys and CB's? They been using those for years without issue.

New York is rediculous and run by a bunch of morons all this money from tickets (fines), huge sales tax, gasoline tax, and cigarette taxes and we still have a huge deficit. Sorry a little venting.

 

Yeah, a ton of morons abusing the privilege and spending years deep-throating their phones while driving did nothing to cause popular support in favor of cell phone bans...

 

I am not saying that people didn't cause reason for the ban, I am just stating my opinion of the matter that it's all about money. They can get more money from people who use them by breaking the law and our state needs all the money it can get. Just like seat belts and helmets for motorcycle riders. It is all about saving the insurance company money. If it was about our safety then we should still have a choice.

 

Becareful from now on though. As of yesterday it is now a 2 point violation in addition to the fine.
