I took an old leather work glove and cut the cuff off of it. It slid right over the hammer area and as the rifle was coming up i just slid it forward a little to clear it from getting in the way.

Do you shoot with a scope or iron sights?

Just the iron. I keep a scope on the varmint rifle I keep around the barn but that's all there good for. Out in your neck of the woods i could see usin a scope with all the mountain areas. But being a born and bread bowhunter and being in the midwest here most of my deer are within 20 yards. I'm into challenge and sport, not much of a born killer.

Iron sights here, too.....part of the fun of shooting black powder. Might put a scope on it next year, especially if I go for elk with it.

My one big hunt I've always wanted to do someday is a Bowhunt for Elk. My only big game is deer, never been after anything else but some day I wanna see an elk within Bow range.
