Default Holiday Recipes!! (Post Them Here)

Do you have any special holiday recipes if so let's share.

I'm the baker in our family so I always do dessert my sis and father in law does the cooking. I have a recipe that is fairly easy. But you have to make it the day before.

Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream Cake.

Ingredients
-1 box of chocolate fudge Cake Mix. (IMO duncan hines is the best)Holiday Recipes!! (Post Them Here)-dark_choc_fudge.jpg
-1 half gallon of French Vanilla Ice Cream. Try to get it in a box like this. Name: icecream.jpg
Views: 89
Size: 16.0 KB
-Hot Fudge
-Whip Cream (optional)
-Chopped Nuts (optional)

Prep
-Mix the cake per box directions.
-Spray a 13x9 pan lightly w/ baking spray. Put about 1Tbl. spoon of flour
in the pan coating it lightly.(this helps the cake come out very easy)
-Bake cake and let it completely cool.
-Remove cake from pan
-Slice the cake in half so you now have a top and bottom.
-Take off top (use two spatulas)
-Open box of ice cream & cut slices off long ways as thick as you want.
-Put the ice cream on top of the bottom layer evenly
-Put the top back on.
-Use two spatulas to put the cake back in the pan.
-Cover w/ plastic wrap & put it in the freezer over night.

-The next day cut the cake and put however many you are serving on plates.
-Warm the Hot Fudge & pour over the cake
-Add Whip Cream & Nuts (optional)

Thats it Enjoy!!

Smoked Turkey Breast
Take one turkey breast
peel the skin back
season with various things (garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, I like emeril's essence)
Then start laying peppered bacon.
every so often put pads of butter down. as you lay the bacon roll the skin back. when you get through toothpick the skin down.
put in the smoker and keep plenty of mesquite and hickory in it and the smoke rolling. Make sure you put it in a pan though so it stays nice and juicy. It's a turkey with bacon on it...how could it get better?...pictures Name: DSC01102.jpg

1C Grahm Cracker Pie Crust

1/3 to 1/2 C Corn Syrup

1C Chopped or ground nuts.
_________________________

Mix Cracker Crust and nuts in a bowl, slowly add corn syrup until they get to be a stiff gooey mix. Don't make these to soft. You want them to hold together and be slightly tacky.

Kneed the mixture with your hands, which is especially fun for kids, or use a wooden spoon. If they are too soft add more nuts or more crust. You can also let this sit out and it will become harder.

Melt 6 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips, in a bowl, a double boiler is better, but a microwave is fine chocolate will not look melted in the microwave so just try 1 1/2 to 2 Min. maximum! Then stir and it will become a soft mixture.

Make a dry mixture of 2T granulated sugar and 1t salt

Make ***** about the size of a shooter marble that's about 3/4" or smaller.
Roll the ***** in the sugar and salt mixture then roll then in chocolate. Make a thin covering. You can use a spoon, or two forks.

Put them on wax paper or aluminium foil and put them in the Frig. to cool.

After the chocolate cools they are ready to serve...
