Anyone know about Netbooks? To me they look like a mini computer but they don't have a ton of options. Not a lot of memory or optical drives. They look like they would be a handy little item to have to tote along instead of a laptop. Anyone have one? pro's or cons? Thanks

I'm actually thinking about these for my kids who are in college for a Christmas gift. They already have laptops and just thought netbooks looked pretty cool to have. It get's harder every year to buy gifts

You talking the ones that ATT and Verizon offer?? If so, then you have to pay $50 or so a month for an unlimited data plan.

My daughter's got a Nook, she can download some textbooks but that might depend on the school, it's small, lightweight E-reader E-book type thing, she likes it.

If you get one, look at the Asus models because they are the only ones that will handle a RAM upgrade. The others can't handle the additional memory.

Did you decide on anything?

(btw, I spelled that e-reader I mentioned, wrong. Its Nook, not Nuuk. )

LOL! Me, too. Just started mine. One year I did have the most important stuff all done before thanksgiving. It was weird, tho, when it was "time" to do the Christmas shopping, I didn't have any, and it didn't feel as much like Christmas.
