Default went to look at a truck this morning...

so with my second child due in about 2 months i figure my 01 QC just isent up for the task of 2 car seats in the back plus diaper bag plus the rest of the babies room and kitchen my wife packs for a 2 hour trip. so i figure i will sell my truck and go find a crew cab. so i start shopping i am looking into either a GMC or a megacab. well i find a nice 07 GMC with 19000 miles so i call to get the price and he says 36800.00 will take the truck. and he askes me about a trade in and i say now way you will not give me what i want. he asks what i have so i tell him and he says that they are infact very interested in my truck can i get them more details. i told him how to find my craigslist add they look at it then call me back and say they will give 17000.00 to 20000.00 for my truck on trade in. i have it listed for 22000.00 wow this might be worth my time to go look. wake up early drove out this morning pull onto the lot and see the GMC and really like what i see. park my truck walk over and see a dent in the rear bumper. now before driving out i asked the guy on the phone the condition of the truck he says excellent it only has 19000 miles on it. i ask dents dings scratchs he says i saw none but if they are they are very very small. now as i get about 15 feet from the truc i see a nice scratch in the fender. then i craw under and i was not impressed at all. and while laying on the ground looking at the under side of the truck i am saying to myself wow this truck is a 07 wil 19k on it and my 01 with 76k on it is in better condition. i craw out walk around the front get to the passanger front look down the side and see a blem in the fender. walk down only to find about a 4x4 patch of the clear coat chipping off. now while i am looking at the outside my wife is looking inside.she said there were stains down the door panel looked like coffee and the leather seats were showing wear. and it was a smokers truck. i dont smoke cant stand the smell so with her telling me this and me never even looking inside the truck i say to her i`ve seen enuff lets go. the salesman has a look on his face like WHAT ARE YOU KIDDIN!! I looked at him and said i am not interested i wish you told me of the problems on the tuck and i was not happy. he says well what if i fix it. i said nope i am not paying 37000.00 for a truck that already needs paint work. and i am not paying 37000.00 for a truck that is not as clean as my 01 with 76000 miles.....so the moral of this long winded story..............DONT TRUST A DEALERSHIP!!!!!!!!! i should have knowen better. what really burns me is i really like my truck but the cab is just not big enuff for me. i even called about stretching it and the company that i want to do it wont. they said they do not do the 2nd gen dodges no more..

Oh boy don't you love the bait and we can fix it pitch... Been there more than once when I was looking for my 12v couple dealers and private parties played that game well... Mint trucks to them are ones that looked like someone took a bat to them and one I drove 2.5 hours to look at it for 10 mins max! Truck was rust free and in excellent shape according to Jim and the cab supports were gone and it looked like my 3 yr old cousin welded on the new ext cab patch panels that were spray painted. And that truck leaked more oil that the rig in the gulf... I take what people say with a grain of salt now
