What Really Matters? - A Real Life Event Short Story... With Purpose
The good ol' Perry County Fair , been to the truck pulls every year since i was 5 years old , always seen this Dodge truck called Afternoon Delight EVERY YEAR , seen this truck go from a stock truck to the Super Mod class , the guy did it all him self Over a span of 11 years when i was 16 i was at the pulls and seen him pull in the pits , and i had a smile on my face, hes never done real well lost way way more than he won Breaking 1/2 the time but hes persistent as hell !...
now earlier that week a local guy won the lottery ,So on this day he walked back in the pits and was looking at the trucks , he walked up to Afternoon Delight and bought the truck on the spot....
a few hours later here he was hooked to the sled ... he was in too low of a gear and whipped the sled all over the track , stopped to fast and the sled totaled the back of the truck as the engine catches fire from like 20,000 RPMS ... he got out LAUGHING HIS *** OFF AND WALKED AWAY AND LEFT IT , meanwhile the Builder was standing on the side lines with a look on his face that you all would have to see , self disappointment , Anger what ever you want to call it or a mixture of everything it was there.
to me personally that was a character builder , sitting in them bleachers that night i learned something that's still with me today.
You Don't Know this but..... Earlier this year , Diesel Bombers was offered a Substantial amount of money to turn over ownership to a corperate conglomerate. They had it all figured out , busted out the plan and the wow factor of dollar bills , when i refused sale they were floored ,
I told them to go pound sand.
Its not about the Money here I wish people could see that! Diesel Bombers is Driven By Passion. It wasn't built because it was a prime market , it was built because this is what we love.
Rather anyone else sees Diesel Bombers as a success , To Us Its already accomplished everything we have dreamed of and more. And we will never stop.

Exactly you know that fella put every last dime he had into that truck for years , has touched every bolt on it , loved the truck ! and someone with complete disregard to just thrash it and trash it right before his very eyes had to be disheartening , the perfect ending would of been if he gave the guy his money back and took the truck home but i cant say because i dont know what happened then

On the plus side, he probably got to take the truck back, and had lots of money to rebuild it, to something even better than what it was.
Of course if the "lottery winner" saw it rebuilt, he would say, "Hey, thanks for fixing "my" truck, and go out and do the same thing again.
Now, to DM, thanks for turning down "big money", I'm sure it would have killed the site.
DB is my first stop when hitting the 'net.

Not every decision in life can be can be justify by money alone sometimes love and passion for what you are doing is greater than dollars alone. That guy had a love for his truck and a passion for the sport. He was in tranced buy dollars and sold the truck most likely expecting the buyer would carry on the same love for it. I know you aren't looking for thank but thanks any way. What has been built here is not just a web page many on the outside wouldn't understand but it is a diesel family. We may all have different truck but we all have a common passion. You understand that the way no outside source could.
