Default Collapsed Lifter

Well this morning I went out and fired up the old work truck(2000chevy K2500,350 vortec) and what do you know I hears the ever so familiar little ticking sound I heard 2.5 years ago. Two and a half years ago I had a lifter go bad so pulled the valve covers and intake off and put in eight new lfters(only one was bad) so I figured I wouldn't have to replace any of the other down the road, Wrong. I swear if I had the extra money right now I would do a conversion to a Cummnis and be done with it. I used to like the 5.7 vortec, but I am getting over that pretty quick. Sorry for the rant.

that just seems strange to me. i can't think of any lifter issues over the years with the 5.7. coolant leaks by the tow truck loads but not very many component problems at all.

weird.

Yeah when they went bad the first time it was a good thing, they did because the intake gasket was starting to leak and did not notice till I had pulled the intake off, so that time it could have saved me from sludging my engine up with the old oil and anti freeze mix. Its strange to me why I would have two lifter go bad within 60k on the same engine. Oh well life suck at times.

Oil has alot to do with it I was told from our GM tech at work. They are very finiky on the oil having any kind of contamination at all.
