back now. what a blast. everyone was very friendly and felt safe in the tourist areas. went on the post katrina tour and the oak alley planation tour. Very worth while.

very funny how CNN and Oprah put such an incredible spin on things. Rating, ratings ratings. Don't get me wrong, if you or someone you knew lived through it then my hat goes off to you but the "1000" dead bodies in the super dome was only actually "4" - 1 suicide, 2 natural causes and 1 OD. My only gripe is the food is VERY $$$. Good but pricey.

I would recommend anyone go there if they haven't been. It was fun.

So, I get back only to find this morning that my electrical gremelin has evolved into 2 new dead batteries!

****. Nothing, no starter, lift pump, stereo, nothing. Got the truck running with a jump but barely got enough juice to get it there. I'll be at home tonight trying to fix that one. Something is drawing a 12V source... All I have to do is find it.

No kidding. This is what the tour guide said to us and he was very miffed at those idiots for basically killing the tourist industry down there.

I'm not saying it didn't happen and in fact very much the opposite but although the lower 9th ward is still getting sorted out you never see the neighbourhoods around the private golf courses worth $500 to 1.2 million boarded up because they are still being fixed. It is always the opposite because that sells.
