Weird letter I got from a lawyers office

It's odd that they know so much correct information about you. (although dated.)
However, if you have been pulled over recently, they probably ran you license. Also, if you have renewed your license, TXDOT must not have had a hold on renewal.
As times get tougher, I suppose municipalities may hire scavenger attorneys to collect ancient (over 7 year old) outstanding tickets/judgments. (Like a collection agency.)
It gets handled civilly, out of court, you pay the fine, you pay the attorney collection fee. Dallas County is happy and you get to sleep in your own bed.

Its all pretty easy to find if you know were and how to look. And lawyer offices are REALLY good at it. Really kinda scary if you think about it....

I could see that but this ticket wasn't outstanding. It was actually dismissed and shows a clear or whatever you would call it ticket. I have no warrants and the only tickets I have recieved after that speeding ticket in 2002 was for window tint and two no front license plates. All of which were dismissed or payed for. The officer ran both my names and they are clear and free as they should be. I really think either this lawyers office is running some scam from old info they had or for some reason Dallas accidentally sent out old information. But according to the cop I'm clear and having nothing to be worried about.

You know, with all the electronic information out there in , old computers, copiers, faxes, etc. They could have got hold of a surplus harddrive somewhere with some old records and they're just going "fishing." ID theives have it pretty easy. I wouldn't worry about those letters. I would keep a close eye on your credit report for awhile though.

Now-a-days many hackers are stealing personal information and using those information illegally. If you may be faced this type of cases where some other people may have used your information. You can provide all the details of your day to day life schedules to the law authorities. Also if it is not sufficient then hire a lawyer and get best suggestions from him to solve this problem.
