Are Athletes Over Paid?
I'm sorry but some of these sports athletes make way too much money. This is just ridiculous

That depends on your outlook. I don't think anyone has the right to tell anyone else that they make to much money. That's the free market. If someone is willing to pay you that money then you are worth it to them. Now if you have a problem with professional athletes making that amount of money then you have the option of not watching the sports, not buying the merchandise and not buying tickets to see them live. I personally believe they are overpaid so I do not watch them, buy merch or pay to go see them. I however do not fault them for getting as much as they can get as all of us that are working want to get paid as much as we can. The fans pay their salary....if you don't like it then stop paying them.

I know what you mean but what I am saying is that the people paying hundreds for tickets, $50+ for jersey's and other crap is feeding these guys and their egos. The public is their boss and if you want to give them a pay cut then stop watching and spending money on them. I'm not going to argue that it's out of hand but I am saying the finger needs to be pointed at the fans. Every year the prices for tickets go up. Hell in some places you have to pay thousands for a license to even be able to BUY seats. WTF.....things have gotten out of hand but people keep filling the stadiums and buying all the crap they peddle. Don't blame the athlete or owner....blame the people putting money in their pockets. The fans.

As far as Im concerned, I think the base pay for all major sports should be a million dollars for everyone and then extra pay based on performance. If you dont preform, you dont get paid.
Ive been to a few hockey games but I will NEVER EVER buy tickets out of my own pocket.

I agree with the performance base pay BUT what right does anyone have to say what someone else gets paid? It' between them and their employer. What I am trying to say is things like this question get us in trouble and lead to the problems we have now. It's called Class Envy. I'm just playing devil advocate here get you to think about the other side. I mean how would you feel if you were getting big bucks for your job and someone came in and said you make to much. The government is doing that now and how long to they get to your job and do that. Prices are set by the consumer....if it costs to much people won't buy it and they will alter the price in some way or go out of business. I think we can all agree that these guys make to much for what they do in relation to our soldiers, police, fire and EMT's along with Doctors....

There's a bunch of people getting paid more than they should. I'm not stupid like some people who buy certain things just because some actor/athlete has it or promotes it. What also pisses me off is when someone or a group stretches out the time they work on something just so they get paid more even though they could of easily done it quicker. The world is screwed up in many ways.
