ok, so my g/f is the manager at a store... the business requires her to go to work no matter what...even if it's a bad snow storm.


so my question is.. if she gets in to a accident on the way to work is the business held liable because they require her to go in no matter what?

 

i would stay home and then if the company fired her then it would be time to visit a lawyer at least you know she's safe then

 

i told her to stay home....but she won't she a single mother just making it as it is.

 

it sounds like to me she cares about keeping this job so she can provide for her children and there is no stopping a woman who cares about her family .aint gonna let a blizzard get in the way.just make sure she is prepared before she leaves

I have to work in the snow. So do millions of others.

Hell I work in the snow hundreds of miles away from home, miles from the nearest paved road, by myself. At night. Out of cell phone service. So do hundreds of others.

Sue the employer for liable in a wreck? Are you kidding? No, you're not.....which is why this country is screwed up.


Don't like it......get a different job.

Worry all you want....drive her there if you're that concerned and pick her up when she's ready to leave. Bet she'd appreciate it; give you brownie points.

Talking about seeing a lawyer for a liable suit is just mealy mouth bullsh*t that makes this country overflow with weak knee'd candy asses. Sorry but it's true.

 

I drive for a living. The only time I don't make a haul is when the roads are closed, just takes longer this time a year. I Haul oilfield equipment and go way out in the back country, spend more time on dirt roads than on paved roads. I can't sue the company if I have a wreck because of bad roads. Just another day at the office.

 

you know mr miyagi your right about the lawsuit thing but I was getting at the, send her on her way and to hell with her if she didn't make it attitude. Yes go to work but be prepared. extra food and blankets in the car and the ability to survive if stranded. Hopefully with that she will make it home to her children being an only parent. If she can't make it to work because of mother nature she shouldn't be fired when most employers take that into consideration. P.S. your still a grouch ***!!!

 

Time for a different job if she can't handle the conditions. As Miyagi mentioned, this is the way of the world. As for wanting to sue the employer, well. This is one of the many reasons I liked living overseas. Way too many bleeding hearts in the U.S. Makes us soft and weak. BTW - I love snow and when I'm ordered out into the snow, I smile and see it as an adventure. Now, if that damn wind would stop blowing....
