required to work??? even in the snow?

If everybody else can make it to work, then she better be there. I sure hope my guys aren't questioning if they could sue me for making them come to work. If the road is too dangerous to drive on, it will be closed, thus giving a valid reason to not go to work. Road open = everyone else is going to work, so suck it up.

she does go to work either way...
when i worked for the local lumber yard.. business would be so slow they would send people home if it was snowing or they didn't mind if u didn't even go in at all.
she works at a petco store... i mean how much business could they possibly have during a snow storm? if she calls in they have a points thing where she loses so many points for every time she calls in.... witch she needs the job so she never calls in, she's a trooper.. she goes to work in the snow and even if she is sicks because she doesn't want to loose points.
if she didn't live a half hour away from me i would gladly drive her to work. i have plow and 2 yard sander for my truck.. i have to drive in the snow it's my job.
i think if she felt that the conditions where to bad to be driving in that she shouldn't be deducted any points. this weekend we are supposed to get up to 2 feet of snow here.
what kind of moron is going to be out to a pet shop in that weather? seriously..... the whole store should be closed. generally people have common sense enough to stock up on supplies before a storm not during the storm.

I don't know man when it comes to pet welfare some people are crazy
My wife has a job in the Medical field and she has to make it in. Last year was a record snow fall year. there were a lot of days I gave her a ride to work. This is no joke but one day last winter I gave her a ride to work in the tractor MX 210 MFD (4 wheel drive) and I tell you what I would have never made it if I didn't have the road mapped on my GPS. For 10 miles I couldn't see the bucket on the loader.
Best thing you can do sometimes is plan ahead. Stay at the store overnight possibly?
My wife went in Christmas eve because of the blizzard for-casted for Christmas day. Trust me I know how it sucks.

I'm in the personal responsibility boat too. You/she lives in a "snow prone" area. Therefore ya'll should be prepared with proper transportation, equipment, driving skills, etc. to get to and from your work. So, unless her managers say stay home or the aauthorities close roads; hit the road.

Hahaha you guys are a bunch of meanies! I say she stays home and gets paid for it.....afterall its sna-owing outside! That stuff skeers the jaheebees outta me. But seriously.....suck it up and go to work cause there's plenty of people (myself included) who'd drive through the worst ma nature could muster up. Work is just that......work. Unless the employer calls it off you show up......period.

Horsepucky......Then you should be a good boyfriend and go taxi her around....you said you're laid off for the winter, WTF else you gonna do?
Ok, next time your power goes out I guess the line crews can say they feel it's not safe to be out so ya'll are just gonna have to wait until they're comfortable....could be a day, could be a month. Hope you're stocked up, and no complaining cuz ya know, it's their right, right? Get real...

maybe u didn't read the part about the plow and sander?.... i plow some association and a few personal drive ways. keeps me busy when i'm laid off. it's not in my best intrest to go anywhere else during a snow storm.
line crews/medical field is different... both are jobs that "have to be done"
lets weigh the scales here... linemen medical workers...... pet store. some how i don't see why they should be open. the lumber yard i worked at didn't have to be open and they had supplies people need during a storm.

she can drive fine in the snow... but i don't think she should be required to work if it's nasty out.
