Dude, I feel your pain......did the dealer tech/service advisor/warranty admin gig off & on for nearly a decade....learned when a customer says "the salesman told me...." to get the customer to come down to the store, find the salesman, and then ask the salesman IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMER if he/she will give this customer a free loaner like he/she does for all his other customers......the dance they do is funny.

that does work. i did something similar a couple times. still got old just chasing those idiots down so i just started giving people rentals and telling the office to bill the sales dept. that didn't go over so well but i kinda made my point and it decreased a little bit....till ya got a new guy...which was every single 10 minutes....and it all started again. the new truck manager was also part owner. i told him to keep his pets on a leash and outta my hair. we never spoke much after that.

one of my favorite things was when the techs would call you during your lunch or whatever and expect you to just run to the nearest phone and call the customer yet if you needed them to work thru lunch or stay a little late it wasn't happening. i never did that crap when i was a tech so i never took it either.

They compensated for a position to stay, meals and sessions. But he had to indicate an agreement for a season I believe. But he could get out of it if he will pay it returning to the education.
