I'm with AVIVA right now. They couldn't find part of my insurance history, so my rate went from $1800/yr to $2400/yr. I had a minor accident where I pushed my front bumper in about 1", cracked the rear bumper on the car I hit, it was as minor as can be. Now they're telling me my rate will go up to $3900/yr.

I'm probably going to go to my broker this week, cancel my policy and take someone else on. If they still jack up my rate I'm just going to run basic coverage. $3900/yr is a ing joke and I refuse to pay that. They can't force me to do anything and last I checked I should be the one who controls where my money goes. Don't let these stupid companies jerk you around!!!

OH yeah, the guy I hit claimed an injury and just so happens to be an insurance agent. It took me a solid month to calm down. I was ready to The speed at impact was <5km/h. (Average walking speed is 5km/h). Ever walk into a wall? Yeah, sounds pretty serious to me....

Funny I'm on progressive and have no problems with them. Even after I bent my front axle which was CLEARLY my fault however no third party, my rate didn't go up that much. Guess I got lucky.

wow... I don't have much bad to say at all and i've been on both ends of the gun with them.

first dealing with em, I caused the accident. rearended someone then some ricer impaled himself on my tow ball.. he had progressive and they were in contact with me before I could even get ahold of my insurance agent. that was impressive.

so I switched to them in 07

had a windshield replaced, no tickets or anything and my rates went up and down a little every 6mos. never much.

forward to a year ago, I got my truck totalled cuz some lady hit me. so i called em up and reported it while I was waiting for EMS to come take me away, by the time I left the ER a few hours later I had 2 calls from an agent ready to help. and since I only had liability and comprehensive there was not much for them to do..

now I have full coverage on my dodge, with the accident and all and i'm still right at $1k a year. same policy, just added roadside and collision.

my impression of them is they move fast. and so far have yet to screw me over in any form. even tho the oportunity is there.

allstate on the other hand... ugh I hope none of you have to deal a 3d party claim with them. even with a lawyer, provided once u mention allstate they don't hang up on you!

Mercury Insurance all the way here. Grand every 6months 3 cars 2 with full coverage. Was in one accident (knock on wood) caused 8 grand in damage. Rates never went up a penny. I would never switch to anyone else.

I have progressive now. The are usually the cheapest, but are also usually one of the worst insurance companies. I'm going to switch as soon as I can afford to.

I had them 10 years ago when i was in a head on auto accident with a drunk driver, other person was a d.o.a. They had to pay for everything because the other person didn't have any insurance.A couple days afer the accident while i was still in the hospital they said they wasn't going to pay for anything. So my lawyers had to step in and make them to pay or i'd sue them. They paid, then they gave me the smallest settlement they could. After i finished physical therapy to learn to walk again i dumped them as fast as i could. And went to gieco, and i havn't had much of any problems with them.
