Default District 9

Please tell me someone else out there has seen it. It was a great movie. You might think it looks stupid. I insist that it was not. Just got back from seeing it at the Dublin 18.

Had a blast good action with a deep meaning. Also sheds some light on what had become of the original situation in South Africa.

Great movie everyone should go see it.

I seen it.... this is my thoughts.

1. it sucked
2. it sucked ONLY Because it was not advertised as the movie really turned out
3. If it had been advertised correctly,, it would have been an ok movie

my take ( based off the previews)

A spaceship stoped over a town, some sort of military went aboard, found awsome weapons. They held the aliens captive in District 9, tried to force information out of them ( how the guns worked).

The aliens desided enough was enough. They retaliated.... ( juss trying to get back to the spaceship). and the military was stoping them.

but NOOOOOOOO

the whole movie is about some ******* who was playing with alien weapon and turns into one...and the head alien makes him a promise....and the guy is like " ok great"...so he trys to help the aliens get back.....

they should have advertised this movie correctly....

They also left it open for a sequel District 10. This is in a different version of what really went down in Johanesburg. Where they hoarded everyone.

I for one thought it was a great movie.

Everyone so far in my unit has liked it. We have the bootlegged haji version of the movie. Video taped in the theater, complete with some person's head in the way for part of it and russian subtitles. At least they were nice enough to impose english over the russian. I am not quite up to speed on speaking alien yet.

Its a political documentary is all it is.......They just added some explosions, gun fights, and aliens to sell it......If they told the real story no one would watch it........It wouldnt of even been released in studios, it would of been a 2 hour special on the History or Discovery channel......

Yeah I saw it. It was really well done, but I don't like alien movies so I was biased going in. Right from the start I was wondering "why the hell did I agree to see this?". But overall it was well done. Wikus was also freaking hilarious.
